We are a Cooperative Playschool, so parents are needed to help both on the Board and in the classroom. Our parents generally have duty days twice a month...this is a great opportunity to see your child in action at school and meet the other children and Teacher!

We follow Edmonton Public School calendar for holidays and breaks. Classes for the 2010/2011 school year begin Tuesday September 7, 2009 and end June 18, 2011.
Our Learning Philosophy
"Learn Through Play"
We believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged with their surroundings. Through self-directed play, children learn about themselves, others and the world around them. It is our goal to provide a safe and caring environment where children feel confident to question, explore and create. Academics is integrated into play, projects, songs and discussion, aiming to foster a positive attitude towards learning.
Our main objectives focus on social skills, playing cooperatively with others, expressing feelings and being able to function well within a group. At Lakewood Community Playschool, we are dedicated to fostering the development of the whole child and celebrating the unique gifts of each one!
